"...What Made Us Want To Be #Patched..."

In 2014, our lives changed forever!  Kylee Beth was born 10 weeks earlier, 3lbs 5oz.  We had no idea that three days later, our world would be shattered at the news that our daughter had Down Syndrome.  We thought our lives were over and we would never live a life worth anything again, but we were completely wrong.  Kylee Beth showed us what living life was all about.  The first 63 days of her life spent in the NICU showed us her strength and determination.  She was on oxygen and monitors for 18 months, but the day after a year and 1/2 of lugging equipment around everywhere was a day of pure joy and excitement!  *3.2.1*---> 3 copies of the 21st chromosome.  Kylee Beth was diagnosed with hypothyroidism when she was 26 months, so we were given the honors of another new specialist to add to our list--Endocrinologist [Little did we know that we would have to work with them ALOT in life!]  She started the Special Education Preschool Program in our school system over the next few months and soared!  She started walking on her own and loved school!

On May 6, 2018, our world came crashing down.  Just when we thought we had been through the worst, we were rushed to the ER in DKA (Diabetic Ketoacidosis).  Our world was turned upside down as Kylee Beth was diagnosed with Type One Diabetes and we spent a week in ICU learning a new way of life.  To say we were in complete shock and at a loss would be an understatement!  Having a child with special needs can be very stressful, but having a child with Type One Diabetes that is non-verbal is a completely different story.  Down Syndrome does not define Kylee Beth and Type One will never limit her!

She is such an inspiration to so many.  She doesn't mind the endless fingersticks or insulin injections, but she can't stand the feeling of the sensors or pumps on her body!  So, we were desperate to find a way to help her want to keep them on (TO KEEP HER ALIVE!).  The vinyl decal stickers are a way to help distract her and allows her to have fun picking out stickers for her sensor and pumps.  There have been many pumps "saved" because they were "patched" with a fun sticker! [#321patched].

Kylee Beth is our inspiration for 321patched.  Although her situation is unique, there are many people, adults and children, who want something colorful, sporty, seasonal, or something to go with a holiday.  Whether it be men, women, or children, we have what you're looking for!  So enjoy our shop, and feel free to ask any questions you may have, especially if there is a custom order or print you may want!  We look forward to working with you!
